Kuwaiti Delegation Reviews the Community Police Experience

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, October 13th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

A delegation of the Community Police in Kuwait reviewed the tasks and duties undertaken by the Community Police at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, its development stages and efforts to attain a prestigious stature in community work.

Colonel Mubarak Awadh Mubarak bin Muhairom Al Ameri, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met with the visiting delegation. He briefed the delegation members about the evolution of this experience, and how the Community Police concept got further consolidated in society through communication with community members and institutions and support of mutual partnerships and shared responsibility.

Colonel Al Ameri emphasized that such achievements were possible thanks to the unlimited support of the security and police leadership, which adopts  forward thinking as it moves steadily into the future, and understands the need for such modern concepts and philosophies that benefit society and provide proactive prevention against crime.

The delegation watched an introductory presentation about the Community Police and its contributions to the development of police work, which makes it a source of reference for neighboring and Arab countries. The presentation also included statistics and information about the stages of social development and expertise acquired by Community Police staff members as they interact with the public while performing their on their daily duties in the different residential neighborhoods.  The delegation was also acquainted with the initiatives and projects carried out by the Community Police, which were instrumental in solving several issues, in support of security and stability in society.

The delegation members were briefed about the role of the Community Police and Policing Sciences Institute, which is leading training institute for academic work related to community policing and brings together an elite group of experts and distinguished trainers from across the world. The delegation also reviewed a number of social initiatives that serve the community and spread a sense of security and stability across the different residential neighborhoods.

Brigadier Abdul Rahman Yusuf Al Abdullah, Director of the Community Police Department in Kuwait and Head of the Delegation, praised the major developmental efforts at the Community Police Department in Abu Dhabi. He said that the scientific and professional development of staff members at the Community Police in the UAE is a source of pride for every Arab due to t. He also lauded the Community Police’s applications, the social initiatives already implemented, and the distinguished way to handle and study problems, and find the appropriate solutions.

He also expressed admiration for the countless local and international awards obtained by the Community Police in the UAE, which demonstrate the important role it undertakes within society and the public’s satisfaction with this role. In conclusion, he stressed the keenness of the Kuwaiti Community Police to follow suit in implementing all of the initiatives and educational awareness programs witnessed in the UAE.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Saeed ben Bakhouta Al Ameri from Community Protection and Crime Prevention; Major Yusuf Faraj Al Hassan, Acting Deputy Director of Community Police; and Major Saif Al Jaberi, Chief of the Social Relations and Guidance Section. The Kuwaiti Delegation included Captain Sheikh Khaled Al Mutairi and First Lieutenant Fatima Abdul Majid Abu Hassan.
