Abu Dhabi to host the event next February

The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) have concluded their preparatory discussions for the Arab Cooperation Exercise for Countering Nuclear and Radioactive Threats; which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi in February. This event will be organized by the United States Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).
This is the second meeting that comes as a part of a series of preparatory meetings held for the international event. It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi previously hosted the first meeting, while the third preparatory meeting will be held in the Kingdom of Morocco in January of next year.
During the meeting, Abu Dhabi Police discussed various aspects of international cooperation, interdependence and integration, as well as the means of joint strategic coordination between the actors involved in order to face the risk of radioactive and nuclear threats.
The meeting was attended by members of the Regional Secretariat of the CBRN Risk Mitigation Centers of Excellence (CoE) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and in the Middle East, a representative of North Africa from the Kingdom of Morocco, a representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, along with an international delegation from the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). This exercise is the flagship of the Regional Secretariat of the GCC.
The ADP delegation for the second preparatory meeting, which was held at the Fairmont Hotel Bab Al Bahr, was headed by Major Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sahi Al Ali, the point of contact for the UAE in the Regional Secretariat of CBRN Risk Mitigation Centers of Excellence (CoE).
It is worth noting that the team of the Abu Dhabi Police participating in the international exercise, is represented by the Directorate General of Central Operations, the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
