Major General Omair Muhammad Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, attended the graduation of the “VIP Security and Close Protection and Property Guarding” Course. The function, which was held at the Capital Police Directorate in Abu Dhabi, was attended by general directors and high ranking officers.
Major General Al Muhairi said that such courses aim to promote practical skills development of police staff members. He also stressed the importance of continuous learning and transfer of knowledge, in the quest to advance the improvement and development process. “This approach would reflect positively on the quality of work and overall results,” he continued.
Major General Al Muhairi praised the efforts of the graduates and their commitment to enhance their knowledge and acquire additional skills in the different fields of police work. He wished them the best of luck and success in their policing responsibilities across all job positions. He also stressed the importance of availing of the courses and programs organized by Abu Dhabi Police, as well as transferring knowledge and expertise to preserve the prestigious image of Abu Dhabi Police, and reinforcing security and stability.
The graduates gave live performances showcasing their skills in the protection of female VIPs, along with self-defense and suspect control methods at virtual incident sites.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Major General Al Muhairi presented certificates of appreciation and shields to the 17 graduates from the Directorate General of Police Operations. It is worth mentioning that the course, a first-of-its-kind to be organized by the Police Operations and supervised by the Capital Police Directorate, falls in line with the efforts to boost performance. It also aims to improve police efficiency and expertise; enhance field work competency; support strategic goals, prevention and crime fighting initiatives; develop skills and examine the best international practices in the different fields of police work.
