ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, January 11th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
Abu Dhabi Police have repeated their instructions to tent owners to provide fire extinguishers inside the tents, and to also train the persons within the tent regarding the proper procedures for using the extinguishers in the event of a fire. In order to ensure and maintain safety for those inside the tent, all exits should be properly marked.
Such instructions will be broadcasted on the radio Monday, and will be delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police. The address falls within the framework of the ’Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Ameri urged tents owners to ensure the safety of electrical devices, connections, and wires. He also stressed upon the importance of relying on electricians for electrical wiring in order to maintain the safety of all persons and properties.
Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Al Ameri warned against using electrical equipment that does not meet the certified standards for tents. He noted that such equipment is dangerous for tent visitors and for the surrounding properties in the event of a fire caused by a short circuit. He also stressed upon the importance of following the safety and protection standards in order to achieve the highest levels of safety for persons within the tent and to protect them from any dangers related to fire.
